about reflexology
introduction
Reflexology is a non-invasive, complimentary health therapy which promotes deep relaxation and a sense of wellbeing.
It is based on the principle that specific reflex points on the feet, hands, ears or face correspond to organs and systems of the body.
The reflexologist applies pressure to the reflexes aiming to restore balance to these areas, facilitating the body’s own potential for well-being.
what happens?
When you book your appointment, you will receive an online initial consultation form to complete before your treatment (if you cannot complete the form online, this can be done over the phone).
For treatment packages, or clients wishing to book regular appointments, we will complete a more detailed consultation form together which includes medical, nutrition, and lifestyle information. This is so that I can ensure that subsequent sessions reflect your specific needs.
It is important to realise that as a holistic therapy, reflexology seeks to achieve balance by addressing the needs of the ‘whole’ person, not just the presenting symptoms. As such, I may offer aftercare advice to enhance your experience and overall wellbeing throughout the course of treatments.
As a non-intrusive therapy, there is no need to remove any clothing (apart from footwear and socks!) You will be comfortably seated in a reclining chair so that you can enjoy the peace, tranquillity, and therapeutic benefits of reflexology for your mind, body, and soul!
If you are unsure whether foot reflexology is for you, why not book one of my mini treatments or consider hand or facial reflexology instead?
NEPIP
NEPIP (NeuroEndoPsychoImmunoPody)
NEPIP is based on the study of relationships between the mind and body systems. Originally developed to support stress management, this unique therapy involves treating both feet simultaneously. The reflexologist uses a variety of techniques and the power of focussed intent to balance the systems of the body, particularly those that play a key role in the body’s response to stress.
Neurology – the study of the nervous system
Endocrinology – the study of the endocrine system
Psychology – the study of the mind and behaviour
