functional reflex therapy
introduction
Lorraine Senior is a qualified teacher and founder of Functional Reflex Therapy (FRT). Using her experience of working with individuals who have special/additional needs, Lorraine has adapted techniques drawing upon the principles of reflexology to develop the ‘framework’ of FRT. FRT was developed for individuals who have high levels of anxiety, social, and educational needs, autism, and other non-specific communication and learning difficulties.
After qualifying as a reflexologist, I was drawn to training in FRT because of my background and experience as a teacher, working in mainstream primary education. I had felt helpless, as an educator, to address the needs of increasing numbers of children who presented with additional and diverse needs, high levels of anxiety, and difficulty in regulating emotions. Needless to say, I was excited to discover FRT and trained with Lorraine in Autumn 2021.
what happens during an FRT treatment?
The FRT Rainbow Relaxation is a combination of relaxation techniques which are drawn from the perspective of traditional reflexology. Using color coded steps.

Please note that these workshops are not part of any recognised reflexology training course and they do not provide you with a qualification. FRT therapists are fully qualified reflexologists who have subsequently attended the 3-day CPD training. Attending the workshops does not give you permission to use the title Functional Reflex Therapist or to teach it to others. If you have enjoyed the learning, please share our details with others!
